SiH Online Series | Online Learning: The Importance of Brand Building

On 15 July 2020, Nuffic Neso Indonesia in collaboration with Maastricht School of Management (MSM) held an online learning session as a part of Study in Holland Online Series #DiRumahAja (stay at home). In this session, we have invited Oliver W. Olson who is the Senior Lecturer in Marketing and Strategy at MSM to deliver a lecture on the topic “The Importance of Brand Building.”

Branding is only one of many aspects of 4Ps (Product, Price, Place and Promotion) commonly known in marketing, even so Mr. Olson explained how important it is to branding your business or product in order to present your product or service in the market. Think about Coca Cola bottle that has not changed in years and most consumers will know it is Coca Cola by only looking at the silhouette of the bottle. With this in mind, he emphasized that when you have found the right brand, you need to be consistent as it helps building the image of your business or product within the eye of (targeted) consumers or customers.
