Seminar Online Dutch Training and Exposure Program 2020 (DUTEP)

DUTEP is a bilateral programme between two Delta cities Rotterdam and Jakarta, focusing on integrated urban water management in Indonesia. The programme is implemented by Jakarta Capital City Government, the City of Rotterdam, Water Board Delfland, Van Oord, Port of Rotterdam, Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and Nuffic, supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

During his opening remarks, Governor Anies Baswedan mentioned that the collaboration between various stakeholders involved in DUTEP forms a perfect example of how collaborative efforts can lead to exchange of knowledge, ideas and practical solutions to solve city challenges.

As sister cities, Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb praised the longstanding relation between Jakarta and Rotterdam where this project is based on, and mentioned that he is hoping to welcome the next batch of DUTEP in Rotterdam soon. He also looks forward to visit the implemented projects that are a result of this program.

The Dutch Ambassador to Indonesia, Lambert Grijns, highlighted the importance of urban water management, and is hoping that the DUTEP alumni can use the results of this program in Jakarta, as a collaborative effort together with Rotterdam to create resilient cities.

The event was closed with an interactive Q&A session and a festive launch of the iJakarta application in which the DUTEP library is stored.
